Family Visits Room

We are pleased to announce that our Family Visits Room will be open and ready for use from Wednesday 26th August 2020.

It’s been exciting to get the Reminiscence Room set up for this new purpose. We hope the 50s style surroundings will help keep visits calm and comfortable for our residents … while safe.

One of our residents and her daughter kindly gave it a trial run for us today to check that they could hear each other with the new speaker system we have put in place, and that they had enough room and were comfortable.

Thankyou for your help Kath and Gill.

We’re delighted to report it all worked well. We will be asking another 1 or 2 of our residents to try it in the morning and then our Visitors Room will officially be open for Family Visits from 26th August 2020.

Pauline Hewitt, Rathside’s Manager, says ….

“I would like to thank each and every one of the family members for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times, and to the lovely residents who have been so resilient throughout this epidemic. Lovely to see their smiles.

And thank you to the staff , who have come to work everyday to support our lovely residents. They have done a fantastic job and continue to do so.

We still need to ensure that our residents can continue to accept the way that we have to hold these visits, so we will be monitoring them more closely.

This is not over yet. However, we are moving forward positively and, by working together, we will get through this.

Thank-you for your support.”
